New Website Helps Immigrants, Employers Network for Jobs

A Canadian website has gone online offering help to immigrants, employers and community agencies to find each other in the jobs sector.

The new site, at NetworkForImmigrants.ca, is part of the Professional Immigrant Networks Initiative (PINs) designed to bring the three parties together. The project is organized by the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC), Scotia Bank and the Canadian government.

The key aim is for employers and the immigrants to find each for mutual benefit.

The organizers say the new site will make PINs’ job of connecting them even easier, with a directory of networks along with a message board for employers to post their openings.

A number of similar initiatives operate around Canada to help immigrants and employers find each other directly, or through third parties such as professional bodies like the Association of Filipino Canadian Accountants.
